Team Bios
Dr. John Deese
D.C. , CME.
John and his family are originally from the Prospect Community. He attended school at Prospect Elementary and Purnell Swett High School. After completing his undergraduate work in Biological Sciences, John moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he completed his doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Deese traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States. After his travels John, along with Jason, joined together in 2001 to open Deese and Locklear Chiropractic Center. He has worked hard over the last several years to help develop the reputation that the office enjoys. Deese and Locklear Chiropractic Center are known for its commitment to patient education, working together with the local medical community, and placing patient service as the foundation for the office’s success. John is well known for his commitment to health and he is willing to go the extra mile for his patients. He has continued to strive for excellence by attending post-graduate courses.
John has been a life-time member of Prospect United Methodist Church and a devoted member to the Choir. John is also a member of the North Carolina Chiropractic Association. He enjoys weight-lifting, basketball, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends outside of the office. John has also been known to enjoy the occasional ride on his motorcycle.
Dr. Jason Locklear
D.C. , CME.
Dr. Locklear is co-owner and partner with Deese and Locklear Chiropractic Center. Dr. Locklear has spent the last 15yrs. helping the residents of Robeson and surrounding counties. In practice Dr. Locklear focuses on treating musculoskeletal conditions such as Low Back Pain, neck pain, sciatic degenerative conditions of the spine with a special interest in headaches. Dr. Locklear is also a Certified Medical Examiner (CME) performing DOT physicals .
Married and a father of 4 Dr. Locklear stays active playing basketball, fishing (when time allows), working on the family farm and spending quite time with his family.
Frankie Brown
Certified Chiropractic Clinical Assistant
My name is Frankie L. Brown. I am a certified chiropractic clinical assistant. Also, I'm a personal trainer, fitness and nutrition specialist, and a physical therapy aide. I have been working in the health and fitness field for 18 years. However, my job here at Deese and Locklear Chiropractic Center is to insure that patients receive the appropriate treatment modalities and rehab in regards to their injuries and or medical disposition. It is all about quality and holistic care, and making sure the patient is the #1 priority.
I attend church at Liberty Transforming Life Church in Lumberton, NC where I am the Minister of Music. I am a barber as well and have been cutting hair for 27 years. I write poetry when the moment is feasible. I research medical, health, and fitness literature especially when it involves improving a patients or clients' health. I am proud to say that I'm a Gulf War Veteran: I was in the Army from July 1989-1992. After my service, I pursued college at Pembroke State University and graduated with a BS degree. While I was in college, I was on the track and field team and earned academic all-American. I was the first graduating class from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with the new name change in 1997. I worked as a medical assistant for two years until I transitioned into the chiropractic field in 2004 with Deese and Locklear Chiropractic Center. It is an honor to be a part of a team that is all about making others better.

Sayra Locklear
Licensed Massage Therapist
My name is Sayra Locklear. I am a Robeson County native, where I was born and raised. I now raise a family of my own here.

I have been employed with Deese and Locklear Chiropractic as a licensed massage therapist since 2010. I am a graduate of Atlanta School of Massage, certified in Swedish, deep tissue, pregnancy, and hot stone massage along with many more modalities. I have been a massage therapist for 15 years.
I thank God for allowing me to do what I love for as long as I have. By his grace, I will continue for many more.
LaVeta Emanuel
Front Desk Receptionist/Personal Injury Billing
I am LaVeta, my main responsibilities being front desk receptionist and personal injury billing is to make sure your visit with us is a pleasant and positive experience. I am here to answer any questions you may have; assist you with your scheduling needs and financial options; and order supplies for your continued care and wellness.

I have been with the outstanding team of Deese and Locklear since 2012. Prior to Deese and Locklear, I was a chiropractic assistant for five years in Bennettsville, SC. I also work part-time with a church in Bennettsville.

In addition about myself, I have two children. We live in South Carolina where I was born and raised. I like to watch TV, cook, and read.
